Perhentian part 1

Pulau Perhentian, Terengganu
23-25 March 2012

What I can say is that it is the best trip ever with my best friends to this island. It was a mere tawakal or just having faith and go on with the trip like there wasn't anything to worry. Alhamdulillah, praise to Allah that everything and every second spend was splendid! It was beyond amazing from the beginning till the end. As much as I'm dreading my feet to go back home, I wish I could stay there longer or even migrate there. There was no hustle, no stress and no connectivity to the outside world. It was only you and the beach.

The hospitality was over the top from our travel agent Mdm Ani. She is like a mother that took care of us so much and pamper us with lots of food. From breakfast, to the fruits before our snorkeling session till the fish crackers before we left Terengganu. She even called her friend to pick us up and bring us around the area of Kuala Besut before taking a ride back to Kuala Lumpur.

We stayed at Fauna Beach Chalet, one of the few chalets at Perhentian Besar or Big Perhentian. It is a good chalet for those who are in tight budget and don't have any other plans for the trip itself. They provide air-con and non air-con rooms, towels and soaps and most importantly, iron! Our package was a 3-day 2-night stay at a non air-con room provided 2 queen size beds with a snorkeling trip and 6 times food serving for just RM270!!Where can you even get this deal?!

Day 1,

My friends and I arrived at Kuala Besut quite early in the morning around 5am.

We were clueless when we reached the bus station because it didn't look like one. Maybe it is due to the "ghost town" that we experience. Why won't it be since it is 5am in the morning?! There's quite a few motorbike taxis waiting and asking us questions but we just ignored them until one of them asked us whether we are going home or to the island, we just replied politely that we were waiting for someone. It was kinda scary because we didn't know anybody and we didn't really know where we were and the best part is that we are clueless 3 girls!yikes!

So my friend Hajar called the aunt and she picked us up immediately. She seems like in the 40s, very fair complexion and energetic, wearing baju kurung and her handbag by her side. She then asked us to put our bags at her open concept office and filled our names on a form, settled some balance payment and confirming return tickets. Surprisingly, she talked fluently in English which awed us She even could understand this European people speaking and talking in their own dialect (most of them came from France while others from Holland and other parts of the world).

Waited for fajr and we made our way to surau or a prayer hall. It was very old and mind you, the toilet outside which I had to pay 50 cents is more pretty and way better than the ones at the prayer hall. How ironic. After which, we decided to take the earliest speedboat to the island because we had nothing much to do. The aunt confirmed with us that the rooms are ready for us and we can crash in immediately when we reached the island.

On our way to the island, we had our greatest things that ever happen in front of our eyes!Sun rise from the sea. MasyaAllah! Words can't describe how happy we were. The sun was as red as it seems to be and creeping out from the sea slowly, bit by bit.

Truly amazing! That's one of the best things happen and you cant really enjoy in a city because we are rushing to school or work. That was just the beginning! The scenery around is breathtaking! Cant stop praising Allah for the beautiful things around. Better still, you have your love ones around to share this experience. Great or what!

Too blue to be true!
We were welcomed with this kind of serenity and its getting better every time!

Hammock awaits a tired body to relax and enjoy the stay
