Cameron Highlands: A deserving trip

Assalamualaikum and olaaaa!

I managed to upload my Cameron Highlands video on Youtube after such long break! haha. it was lull period in school but still chaotic as we have short period of deadlines. I will clear some work and edit in between when I'm super tired. I always need something to distract me from insanely staring at the same thing again and again.

I've posted some pictures in my previous post. My itinerary was very simple as we learn our lesson during our honeymoon but sadly it was a public holiday + school holiday, it was kinda crazy. Last minute booking = expensive rates of transport and accommodation.

Planned: 7-10 December

7 Dec
- @ KL taking 11am bus to Cameron Highlands
- check-in and chillex
-go pasar malam

8 Dec
- sightseeing: waterfall, butterfly, flower and bee farm
- BOH tea plantation

9 Dec
- mossy forest trail

10 Dec
- check-out hotel
- take bus to KL
- take flight to SG

Reality: 6 -10 December

6 Dec
- because we book our trip late, the flights are super expensive to go in and out of sg just to KL. it reaches to $200++ whereas normally we only pay less than $100 for 2-way, so we took bus after work and reach KL on 7th morning. Little did we know that StarMart is super chaotic and not systematic because most of the Indian workers nak balik kampong for Deepavali and some Singaporeans like us cikopek tak nak naik flight. We only manage to gerak after 12.40am and super groggy coz we from work n didnt get any proper rest after work.

7 Dec
- We reach Times Square, solat wash up had breakfast at Starbucks and head our way via monorail LRT a.k.a. train like MRT to Pudu Terminal. We can't find the booth asked around and people give different direction until the last security guard told us THEY CHANGED TERMINAL TO TBS. Super not funny coz they just changed on 1st Nov and we weren't informed. We also thought it is another wrong info but we saw small sign. Luckily we departed early from Times Square around 9.30am so we exited and took cab. The taxi driver actually suggested we take train coz the traffic isn't predictable and may jam but luckily it wasn't. Arrived TBS at 10am and it was a mess! Super crowded people wanting to go home to their own cities and we don't know where to look for our counter so we asked security to get a ticket, he told us we need to exchange a ticket at A,B or C counter. Was a bit scared coz I can't see any Cameron Highlands bus on the departure board. Reached the counter at 10.40am and to our surprise, the counter lady said no bus to Cameron Highlands at 10.30am, only at 11am. She double confirmed and she told us to run to the berth downstairs as they are leaving and we ran like we owe our lives. They said our name wasn't registered because we booked online and they said lucky us that there's available seats. So we just hopped in.

- Reached Cameron and it was raining and cold (16 degrees), had lunch and the hotel dont make arrangement of shuttle or anything, worse - no taxi wants to bring us to the hotel as it is jam for so long

-Went to tax stand in front of Mary Brown Restaurant and ask some taxi driver and this one kind driver, Ganesh helped us. He had a very old school taxi, small and smell of leather, told us alot of stories. He seems not to be bothered with the cold compared to us. hahah

- Reached hotel, Copthorne, didn't manage to get out room to have the honeymoon decoration but the room is super splendid. The highest floor and the view is magnificent. We had candle light dinner so we didnt move around, just explore the hotel area

- Candle light dinner was nice but the main dish (steak was too well done, can't even cut. Mash potatoes were too salty) but they changed for us. We were super full by the end of the meal for our 5 course meal at 9.40pm

- Booked afternoon tour to mossy forest and BOH tea plantation for the next day

8 Dec
- Breakfast in the hotel was not provided in our booking package but it is worth it coz all are nice and sumptuous. RM25 per pax with super wide range of spread from Malaysian to western food.

- We went out taking Ganesh's taxi to Rose Garden and Lavender Farm after breakfast. Super fun and we managed to pick our own gerberas and strawberries! Rushed back and pray, where we go a call that the tour will be late. The room was decorated with dried flower petals in a heart shape only that I had to pay for RM20. Seriously Copthorne? Then we took our time, sleep and all, to know that they cancelled last minute as the 4WD wasn't coming back any time sooner. Since it was a Sunday, the jam just escalates crazily. We had to postponed to the next day. FYI, Monday no BOH tea plantation cafe. bohoo!

- We had dinner at this one mamak shop since everything and everyone closes their shop quite early, ard 8pm. This mamak shop was walking distant but the roads are quite quiet and cold! Vapours coming out from out mouth and luckily we had jackets and socks! Had maggie soup (they dont have anything much for rice and biasa lah mee mamak or prata) and ordered some prata. Back in the hotel, bough nice cake, watched movie on tv and sleep.

9 Dec
- After breakfast on bed that we bought from convenient shop downstairs from hotel, we had cereals. Then to our mossy forest trail, in hoping that it wont rain. They came 30 mins late but it was a fast ride up to the tea plantation and the guy explained to us in all the details. He also allow us to take wonderful pictures around the tea plantation despite the next day is Deepavali

- Mossy forest is very cold (15 degrees i guess) because it is covered with moss and the temperature is slightly colder than low lands. The guy showed some repellent fragrant like leaves and something like eucalyptus/axe oil smell. We say goodbye to our shoes as they are filled with mud but it was an amazing trail! Luckily it wasn't raining very heavily until we hop on to the 4WD

- Reached hotel in very hungry manner, bought the lunch package which is quite cheap and sleep. hahah

- Stayed in hotel till before dusk around 5.30pm, we went to the pasar malam and it was super happening! I really love all the oily food and unhealthy foods. hahahah. All the vegs and fruist are super fresh but because we dont have car, we cant bring all those home

10 Dec
- Took shuttle bus from hotel at 8am! (there's no other timing anyways because the scared we gonna caught in jam) to tanah rata to take bus. Dropped at tanah rata and had another breakfast at indian shop. Little that we know, when we reached the bus counter, they said there's no bus to KL for the day. I told her, it is not funny, we need to go home at 11am and we bought the tickets. So she had to outsource to another company and luckily they have extra seats. And luckily we are early to reach the bus counter at 9.00am and 10.30am at the bus station as the bus came on time and left the place immediately. We saw some ang mohs had to flag some cars like in their country placing cardboard with sign to penang. I guess they had same experience that they bought ticket online and to know that they dont have any schedule for bus on that same morning. Woke up to a very bad headache coz the bus keeps on pulling breaks in between corners and I just MAJOR LANDSLIDES EVERYWHERE! I mean major because the big trees are all uprooted, scary shitz the hell of me. No wonder there's no bus.

- Reached KL sentral at 2.30pm, super packed coz it's public holiday, solat and had lunch. took the KLIA Express 2 and it just really feels like in HK again taking the HK Express from the airport.

-KLIA 2 is pretty much like Changi but smaller cramp and crazy. Couldn't be any more happier to take the plane at 9.30pm and reach home safely at 10.45pm (luckily my MIL's place super near from airport).

it was really a #fizmiadventures as it was my first time dealing with super cock up plan and service. May be it was festive season, that's why. But luckily I got my abang with me eventho we both are nuts having this kinda service to us. I guess Singaporeans are too complacent and have super high hopes on service. haha! But definitely to more great adventures!
