Finding a home

OMG I can't tell you enough how stressful I am during this searching ad looking for resale flat.

Back story a bit. We applied 2 SBF and 1 BTO just beside the Temasek Poly AND GOT REJECTED WITHOUT A NUMBER. And am so furious already so we decided to get resale flat.


And my heart has been cheated 5 times after falling for the home and loving it. THEN, the problem starts to arise. Cannot go lower to our ideal price, house in very bad conditions with hacked rooms and store room, no HIP toilets, cannot pay using CPF and bla3.

It is supposed to be 3 months process once we set the deal and yet, it was very hard for us. Firstly, we found our perfect home, ground floor with high windows and near my MIL place. But, the owner doesn't want to lower the price of the house when the house condition needs too many revamping (kitchen cabinets are great but the ceiling has molds and the waterproofing has worn off, window grills were in original condition a.k.a. rusty and out of date. Toilet were the worst of all and had to redo everything including ceilings. Mind you, this house is only 20 years old. Huhu.

2nd house was beautifully renovated, a tad too far from the DTL but there's feeder bus just in front of our block. BUT, because the house is more than 40 years old, we can't fully utilised our CPF, only can use 58% from CPF and the rest are by CASH, we had to let go too.

3rd house was also beautifully renovated, super near my parents' place. BUT the owner as well as the agent is too shady, wanted us to pay $7k cash to them and not to HDB as their house is a negative sales. My agent said don't do it because his licenses may be seized and we also will get consequences. We almost sign the contract sey.

4th house was ground floor, I wasn't really keen but A loves it and near the DTL. I don't like it in particular is that they hacked the middle room and store, I can't understand the concept of the house, having different tiles everywhere in the hall, pillars around the hall like those museums kind or byzantine time, lights were.... I can't even explain, kitchen cabinet and arrangement were too weird, toilets were not HIP because the lady had stroke and they do not want dust around the house. No updates from owner whether can bring down the price or not.

Last house was high floor, airy and 180 degree view, squarish hall but big, all the room and toilet conditions are good except the kitchen which we need to redo. The agent had sold it to someone with our ideal price and without telling us nor brought down the notice from PropertyGuru.

So this weekend, we are going to see few houses with our agent and we will see whether we will hit the jackpot. I really want to get the house by Raya do that I can invite everyone to open house at my place. Macam tak sempat gitu.

My husband said, ade hikmah disebalik ni seme. Nak prepare for the real house that is good for us. Everything is at the right timing kan. So let's hope and do not despair on Him.
