Bromo, Malang/Surabaya

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم I miss travelling!!! Looking at all the leaves for 2020 and my passport is so depressing! This long overdue blogpost will suffice, I guess. A came about loving mountains after watching Anapurna and Everest base camp on some travel shows on TV. From then, we pretty sure making a point to include climbing a mountain in one of our destinations. We decided Bromo as it is the easier version because it is not so hard to climb. AND I WAS WRONG! It was not so high BUT because of the sand and dust (and horse poop smell), it took us long to climb up and down. When descended and I blown my nose, all black particles came out and I showed to A, he felt disgusted. hahah. I inhaled the dust around and when I washed my face and hands, it was so black. Should have brought change of clothes. Can you see the mountain tips? The rooftop view. super nice and cold! Subuh Fajr  Sunrise Me + You See the fog The sulfuric smell super strong Hi horsey Jejak rosul keee I love this shot Love

Car Rentals in Singapore

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم Alhamdulillah, after I passed my driving license for 6 month, I am having fun driving around Singapore. In Singapore, companies like Carlite and TribeCar accept probation drivers (below 1 year of driving licence). I signed up with TribeCar at first and had issues, cars are very bad conditions, thus leaving them to try out Carlite. Surprisingly, Carlite has the exact same interface website (they dont use an app) as TribeCar. I just got to know from my brother that TribeCar is a subsidiary  of Carlite where Tribe bought cars from Carlite. The rentals options are by pick up and park at the same parking space on charged by hourly, prices are comparable. To compare TribeCar and Carlite, I find Carlite's customer service officer is very nice and patient and Carlite cars are way better than TribeCar.  I wanted to sign up for BlueSG and Smoove after the Tribe incident but both only allows me to have my license after a year and 2 year respectively. And Smoove just ann

The truth about skincare

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم During this lockdown, I got bored and stumble upon Hyram's channel  on Youtube. He is one of the most truthful person about skincare products and ingredients and he is also famous on how to get rid of acne and pimple issues. I found many along the way too such as Susan Yara  and her other channel Mixed Makeup , James Welsh . For me, I don't have much problem with my skin, it is that I need to start because I've aged. Only that I always have problems on choosing the best products for my skin and understanding my skin. More expensive products ≠ Better results The most common thing that, logically speaking, the more expensive, the better product. I mean, models represented these expensive products such as  SKII, Estee Lauder, Shu Uemura, Kheihls and slapping them on their ever beautiful skin. Please don't be fooled, use skincare that are suitable for your skin and condition, not because of the expensive products. Ingredients are important. I love Ski

Road to IVF

Image
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ I am going to update you guys on my IVF journey BUT before that, here are the important things your need to know: If you are Singaporean, you are entitled of the government grant of both IUI and IVF procedures that they called it ART (artificial reproductive treatment). Currently only 3 government hospitals are running ART: SGH, NUH and KKH.  You can also use your medisave for the balance payment, thus you don't need to fork out or save so much. Yes, I did have that concern before that IVF costs $10 - $15k but don't worry, you can use medisave up to $6k on your  first treatment.  On top of all these, you need to be married and tried for at least 1 year, the better if you have any complications like endometriosis, polyps, irregular menses. So here's the breakdown from Jan 2020: So you see, we don't really encourage to go private as you may have to fork out more but if you go for comfort and speedy treatment and have lots of saving, yo

Celebrating Mama's 74 birthday

Image
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم We had a blast on my MIL's birthday. Celebrated with so many food until we had food coma. Happy 74 birthday Mak. A and I only call her Mama during our conversation coz we wanted to distinguish between my mom (Mak) and my MIL (Mak). hahah And because it was still during phase 1, we couldn't have our normal birthday celebration with everyone because we had to stagger our meet ups. Lucky that foodchains are open, we bought ondeh ondeh cake from Swee Heng, dinner from Qiji and durian from a new fruit stall downstairs. And then we only realised that we were 1 day early. hahahah. takpelah, we gave way to our other brothers and sisters in-law to come the next day. Sad with all these restrictions but happy at the same time we managed to celebrate and made her happy.   My mom advised me something very important. Treat our mother in-laws like our own mother because they raised your husband to be the man that you married. And whatever happens between you and your hu

31.5 and I am today years old

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم 2020 has been a crazy roller coaster for everyone. End of 2019, everyone cheered for the new decade and then Covid-19 slammed in mid January from China. All hopes and dreams were crushed especially those who are graduating from diploma and universities, whether dream jobs, internship sign ups or grad trip. Economy is looming, many were retrenched and some companies could not sustain and collapsed. But in such distressed moments, many good things that emerged from Covid-19 that we could learn.  Earth is healing itself. having the whole world to be shut and stand still brought  down CO2 emission from all over the world. And ozone hole was shut but scientists were saying it was not related to Covid and lesser pollution. People are more empathetic during these terrible times and helping one another even they don't have enough. There's so many donation and charity work going on. Nak sedekah just with the tip of our fingers je. Our frontliners are the best!

KL Adventures - Before Covid pandemic saga

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم The Covid (or back then we were calling Wuhan virus) came to our shores on 23 Jan but it was contained. Not much news and spreading were low, so we still proceed with our travel plans  to KL for my cousin's wedding from 20 - 23 February. We were very cautious about it too, wearing masks on flight and sanitized everything on plane (at that point of time, it was not a thing. wearing mask is a taboo that only sick people have to wear and hand sanitizer or washing hands were not a norm). The itinerary: Thursday Landed KL, go to Astaka Moroccan at PJ Check-in at Vortex KLCC apartment, shopping at Perdana Wait for my brothers to come, go I-City   Dinner at Tapak Friday Lunch at Rebung restaurant by Chef Mail   We came late and it was already tea time! Went to Boat Noodle at SOGO Friday prayers shopping at Mid Valley/ Berjaya Times Square/ KLCC/ Pavillion/ Bukit Bintang Dinner at Tapak with cik Asmah family Go rumah Kak Diana Saturday The wedding, 9am nikah, recept
